Libros El Hado
I come from a rural town in the Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Like in many other towns in my country, there’s no book store to browse the bookshelves and buy a book. The book lovers of these towns rely on online shopping or have to wait until they travel to a bigger city, to go to a book store (usually at least 100km away).
Having seen this situation, together with a friend we started a project to bring books to my town, Carhué, giving the possibility to the habitants of the town, and the towns close by, to visit the store, see the books in stock, as well as to order books online.
My friend, Juan, is based in Buenos Aires and takes care of purchasing the books, packing them and sending them to Carhué.
We partner up with Heladería El Hado, the most popular ice cream store in town, located in the city center. They make the best ice cream I’ve ever tried @heladeria_el_hado.
I designed the identity of the project, run the marketing campaigns in social media and manage the instagram account @libros.elhado.
How it works
Books in El Hado
The ice cream shop El Hado set up a book store area in their store, to exhibit the books currently in stock. The customers can go to the ice cream store, order an ice cream (or a coffee & cake) and buy a book from the shelf. The customers can also order a specific book to get it delivered to the ice cream store.
Purchasing and delivery
Books are delivered from Buenos Aires to the ice cream store in Carhué regularly, every 2-3 weeks. Juan curates the books to be delivered, covering different genres and interests. The books that have been ordered in the store are also included in this delivery.
Order books online
Our instagram followers can also order books online, that will be delivered to the ice cream store with the next package of books.
